Moo Moo (or My My in Russian) is the name give to a very popular chain of cafeterias which operate in the vein of Soviet style milk bars. Food is purchased at a canteen, rather than by table service, and comes in large servings for a small price. However, unlike in the good old days, you can choose from a range of cuisines, from classic Russian fare such as pelmeni to more out there choices like chicken with pineapple and liver fritters. Moo Moo is a favourite choice amongst ex-pats thanks to its English menus and is also a great place for tourists to grab a cheap lunch on the Arbat. Plus there's lots of fun to be had milking the cow jokes. |
