"Last Christmas I gave you my cash...

...And the very next day you took it away," or so one Russian billionaire might well be singing during this festive season.

Just twenty miles outside Moscow, an unnamed business tycoon splashed out on the services of none other than George Michael for his New Year's Party.

New Year's is traditionally celebrated with great pomp and style in Russia (not least because it precedes the Russian orthodox Christmas, which takes place on the 7th of January!), and guests at this particularly party certainly had it good! The ex-Wham frontman, who has become one of the biggest names in pop, performed an hour long concert for the private audience.

However despite being reported to have had 'fun' at the party, it was a case of grab the money and run for Mr. Michael who was back in London by the following morning. One party-goer allegedly quipped that it was a case of 'Don't let the sun come on me'.
