Hotel Irbis

One of the best options for their stay in Moscow on price and quality. Comfortable rooms with free internet, great breakfast, close to the subway.

Hotel Ukraina

The Hotel Ukraina unfortunately closed its doors forever. Nowadays, it is a Radisson Hotel. I haven't been there yet, but I cannot imagine, that it still has the same old charme, like it used to be. And the prices...

Napoleon Hostel

I can't say enough good things about this place. The staff are very friendly and extremely helpful, and the accommodations are clean and nicer than most hostels, plus the location is perfect. This is definitely the best place to stay in Moscow if you're on a budget. Napoleon made my trip so much better!

Napoleon Hostel

This was one of the best hostel experiences I've ever had (and I've stayed at a lot of hostels around Europe). The owner and staff were incredibly helpful, even helping me sort out train tickets. The atmosphere here is friendly and fun.

Napoleon Hostel

I am very surprised to see such positive reviews here about Napoleon. I stayed at Napoleon hostel during my trip last summer. While the location was convenient in Kitai Gorod, it's really nothing more than a fourth floor apartment. The two showers were not nearly enough for the number of people they packed in. And the hostel is in pretty much desperate need of renovation. Guests were boozing and jumping around all night, not giving anyone a chance to sleep. I ending up moving to another hostel for the duration of my stay. There seems to be a nice selection of better hostels. AVOID!

Hotel Ukraina

I stayed here April 2006 and I LOVED it!!! The common areas were GORGEOUS! My room was nothing special but, I understand they have remodeled! It was reasonably priced ($120 per night) and the bar/observation deck at the top made for some great pictures!! 10 min. walk (at the most) to the Kievskaya Metro. Very easy!! The breakfast buffet was great!! There were a lot of American's staying there too (some kid's hockey teams, and adoptive couples). Nice litle gift shop, in case you haven't spent enough out at the Izmailov Flea Market!! Would stay there again and again!! Actually curious to see the renovations!

Hotel Leningradskaya

It's now a Hilton and still somewhat fair priced. Excellent location close to the metro. I'd recommend this place. Clean, quiet no hassle place

Hotel Ukraina

This is an excellent hotel, one of the best in which I have taken a room in some time. The rooms are beautiful, the bathrooms luxurious, and the food at the breakfast buffet excellent and abundant. I will return the next time I am in Moscow, and would recommend it to anyone visiting the city.

Marriott Grand Hotel

I thought it was over-priced...

Marriott Grand Hotel

Marvelous stay in Russia thanks to the Marriott Grand. Amazing staff - which I am told is rare in Moscow, but I think that is an old out-of-date cliche. Very luxurious. It was also easy to get out and visit Red Square and the Kremlin.

Napoleon Hostel

awesome time in Napoleon. Met some cool Italians and we had a riot in Moscow's crazy clubs - even if we were nearly bankrupt afterwards

reviewed by Frankie from United Kingdom on Jul.09.2008

Godzillas Hostel

This was the only place/person/organisation to rip us off the entire time we were in Russia. The staff were unhelpful and unfriendly and clearly had the attitude that backpackers were for money and nothing more. Don't come here expecting anything more than a barely adequate room at a very high price.

Napoleon Hostel

Napoleon Hostel is the best hostel in the world! These guys saved me in September, when my Russian visa was running out. They did everything they could to help me out, going way above the call of duty to schedule appointments for me and so on. Without them I would have succumbed to pure panic for sure! Thanks Napoleon Hostel for helping me get on the train and out of Russia!

Marriott Grand Hotel

Very much enjoyed my stay at the Marriot grand hotel in Moscow (not difficult since the company was paying;). If you thought Moscow was still behind on customer service think again. First class luxury

Hotel Metropol

Moscow's reputation for luxury and extravagance is well deserved as a stay at the Metropol will attest to. Recommended - as long as the company is paying;)
